| Me and mom only had to take a combined 27 pictures to get this one! |
I guess 10 hours in a car are a little different for the driver than the passengers....but she was excited and ready to see her cousin! So after our arrival we decided on a lazy day of hanging out and catching up ...
Day two was to be a day of pumpkin picking. It was a cloudy overcast day with some drizzling but we figured why not, let's just stick to the plan and get these kids some pumpkins! But the local...pumpkin picking place?....farm?...field where things grow?...whatever you want to call it, they had different plans for the day and this is what we showed up to...
Completely deserted. But when trying to turn around and make a U-turn we did find this guy!
Then he came closer to say hello!
Except his hello turned into death stares of get off my masters property (at least that's what his eyes were telling me). So off we went. Luckily for me my little one had fallen asleep in the car during this time so there were no cries of 'I want my pumpkin!' In order to make good on our promise of some afternoon fun and get rid of some of their extra energy we decided to try out a place nearby called the Airbound Trampoline Park. I had just recently heard about places like this but never been to one so for those wondering, yes, it's pretty much a bunch of trampolines all in one place. Jes found this an acceptable replacement for pumpkins (for now, that trip will be made up in the near future) and was off jumping to her hearts content.
My nephew however was not the biggest fan....
Although Jes was having a great time it wasn't long before she started getting bored. I think this would be a great place for a play date so the little ones can run around but not so much fun for a child on their own. And unless you've got a little one who's fearless and has abnormally great hand eye coordination I'd stick with this as something for toddlers 4 and up.
After getting home and having some delicious homemade chicken noodle soup by my sister-in-laws mom (Sorry there are no pictures, was too busy chowing down. Did I mention it was delicious?) we got the little ones ready for bed. Seeing as how these two aren't together as much now we figured we'd take the opportunity to get all matchy matchy for some cute photos....well as cute a photo you can get of two active toddlers who refuse to sit still...
| They're both looking in this one! I'll take it! |
Oh the joys of trying to wrangle little ones to capture memories they can look back on... And so ended our way to short but fun weekend with family. It's not always easy getting in quality time with family near or far, with or without little ones but it's definitely always worth it! It may not have gone exactly as planned but let's face it, if things aren't getting a little sloppy then you're probably not doing it right!
So here's to sloppy first and going back for seconds!
