Halloween

From pumpkin carving to treat making and party going this year's Halloween was quite a packed week! I've decided to take the edited route for all our sake on this one so here are some highlights.

This year's pumpkin carving was a family affair! My cousins' wife came over with her three children and we all got our hand dirty carving some pumpkins! I have to be honest, my pumpkin carving skills leave a lot to be desired. I have no fancy design techniques or tools (we got a pumpkin carving kit at the dollar tree - side note: Love that place!). For me it's all about having a good time and watching my daughter laugh and smile and seeing the look of accomplishment on her face when we're all done.

So we may not have the most experience at this but we sure did have a good time not knowing what we were doing...

Pumpkin Picking!

As promised we did finally make it out pumpkin picking! Jes was super excited and I must admit so was I! It's not something I ever did growing up but I love that it's a new tradition that me and Jes now have to look forward to every year.

We tried out a new place this year, it was smaller than the one we went to last year but I kind of liked that about it. It was family run and everything was as perfect and adorable as it should be on a farm (obviously any real life experiences with farms have been non existent given I use worlds like adorable to describe them).

Weekend Getaway...

Last weekend we took advantage of the holiday and made our first trip to see my brother and his family in their new home down in North Carolina! My sister and her husband also live in North Carolina so this wasn't our first road trip down. We usually drive over night so there's less traffic and the little one can sleep (and not ask 'Are we there yet') on the ride down. After 10 hours, 3 large caramel lattes and a multitude of not even close to less than healthy snacks we finally crossed into the state we were aiming for!

Me and mom only had to take a combined 27 pictures to get this one!
